On Monday, January 21st, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Daronco Town House, the Junior League of Pelham will hold its 2nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Service Fair.
In keeping with MLK’s vision of a “beloved community,” the event will create a space where members of the community and non-profit organizations can connect in a meaningful and immediate way. The following organizations will be present with volunteer opportunities to excite, engage and empower members of the Pelham community:
- Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum
- The Birthday Party Project
- Community Service Associates, Inc.
- County Harvest
- The Danny Fund
- EcoPel
- Girl Scouts of Pelham
- Huguenot Memorial Church
- Humane Society of Westchester
- Meals on Wheels
- New Rochelle YMCA
- Pelham Art Center
- The Pelham Children’s Center
- Pelham Civic Association
- Pelham Together
- Project Community, Inc.
- Town of Pelham Public Library
- WESTHAB – Homes for Homeless
The MLK Service Fair will also provide an opportunity for attendees to honor MLK’s birthday. Attendees will have the opportunity to pay it forward through our partnership with The Birthday Party Project, an organization that gives the gift of a birthday party to those who are less fortunate. Attendees of all ages are welcome to drop off a toy and/or volunteer to wrap gifts, create cards and decorations, and get involved with other fun party essentials.
Please save the date and join us on January 21st to see how you and your family can volunteer with various non-profits in Southern Westchester! We look forward to seeing you there!
