Gerard “Jerry” Maggino – March 7

Gerard “Jerry” Maggino of New Rochelle NY passed away on Thursday March 7th 2019. He was 85 years old.

Jerry was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York to Joseph and Antonetta Maggino. He was raised in the Bronx where he attended local schools. Upon graduation Jerry would proudly serve his country in the Korean conflict.

When Jerry returned from the war he followed his creative side and opened Flowers by Twilight in Manhattan. He had a passion for flowers and all things beautiful. He would later move to Westchester and open Pelham Manor Florist. He was known for his colorful window displays and taking care of his many regular customers. He also had a love for cars. He collected mustangs and owned two matching 65 Mustangs at the same time.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Maria (Michael) Leff, his grandson; Andrew Leff, his brother; Anthony (Marie) Maggino and longtime friend Lidia Mascolino.

He is also survived by his many nieces and nephew. He will be missed by his many friends, customers and everyone who knew him. Jerry is predeceased by his brother Joseph.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Tuesday, March 12th from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow on Wednesday at the Woodlawn Cemetery at 10:00 am.
