School board to vote to send $74.9 million budget to voters Tuesday, hold more talks on naming turf field in honor of Senerchia

The Board of Education will meet at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Pelham Middle School Library, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803. Prior to the public meeting, the Board is expected to meet in executive session at 7 pm in the Superintendent’s Conference Room in Central Office, 18 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803.

At the meeting, the Board is expected to vote on the proposed 2019-20 School Budget that will be considered by the community on May 21, 2019. Read more about the proposed budget. The Board will also vote on the 2019-20 BOCES budget. Additionally, representatives from Capital Markets Advisors will attend the meeting to provide an update on the District’s financial forecast related to debt service and anticipated building aid associated with past and future ongoing capital expenses.

The Board will also continue its discussion regarding a proposal to name the current turf multipurpose field at the Glover Complex in honor of the late Anthony Senerchia Jr. Anyone interested in commenting on the proposal is welcome to share their opinion during the public comment portion of the meeting or submit an email to the Board of Education at [email protected]. The Board will not vote on the proposal at the April 23 meeting.

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, as well as reports on 21st Century Learning and Professional Development, Networks of Support and Social-Emotional Development, and Finances and Facilities.

The Board may also review and/or approve the following policies: Policy 5410 – Purchasing (Third reading/Adoption); Policy 5411 – Contracting for Professional Services (Third reading/Adoption).
