Dear Pelham Parents, Residents, Faculty, and Staff:

On Tuesday, May 21, eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast ballots on the 2019-20 budget proposal and select candidates to to fill three open seats on the Board of Education.

All voting will be held in the PMHS Main Gym between 7 am and 9 pm. Parking will be available in the circle driveway of the high school (575 Colonial Avenue) and along Corlies Avenue.

Additionally, elementary parents, don’t forget to bring your children for the annual Kids Vote between 3 and 9 pm.

Please read below for more information on what is include in the proposed budget.

Elementary Schools

  • Completion of the Foreign Language Elementary School (FLES) program phase-in, providing Spanish language instruction to all students grades 2-5.
  • Creation of a fourth elementary psychologist, providing one dedicated clinician per school to bolster social-emotional supports.
  • New elementary interventionist/teacher to bolster Response to Intervention services and enhance academic supports.

Middle School

  • Maintains commitment to enhancing International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme through continued professional learning for staff.
  • Continues support for 1:1 Chromebook Initiative through refresh of select devices.

High School

  • Increases dual enrollment, AP, and elective courses at PMHS, such as A Study in Dramatic Literature (Adelphi), AP Computer Science Principles, Modern Drama, Global Arts, Intro to Programming and App Design, and Intro to Programming and Robotics.
  • Includes unified basketball and girls’ ice hockey as new athletic offerings.
