Frank Kurtis Taubner, Esq. – July 17

Frank Kurtis Taubner, Esq. of Stamford, Conn., passed away on July 17, 2018.

Born in Westchester County to Frank F. Taubner and Candace Ann Pfleeger, Frank was one of two children. He was raised in Pelham Manor, N.Y., five houses away from where his father grew up, attending the same elementary school right across the street from his house. There he met life-long friends and inherited his parent’s love of the water. He and his sister Julie spent summers boating on Long Island Sound with their parents. It was always a passion, and eventually he had his own boats, first a Boston Whaler, then a high performance boat and eventually a cruiser when he married and started a family.

He attended Canterbury Prep School in Connecticut, Babson College in Massachusetts and Hofstra Law School in New York. Frank always enjoyed team sports and in college became an avid rugby player. His buddies from TKE fraternity, where he was president, will attest to that. During the summers, Frank would spend time in Montauk with his family and enjoy surfing and deep-sea fishing. Along with boating, he shared the same love of racing cars as his dad. Some memorable times were when they attended the Skip Barber School of Racing and entered the New England 1000. His prize possession was a red Ferrari.

After graduating from law school, Frank worked for Jasne, Florio & Florio, LLC. He later established his own practice, the Law Office of Frank Taubner, PLLC in White Plains, N.Y. He always looked forward to summer, especially the 4th of July week, which became a tradition for the entire family to gather. His son Jack, who was his pride and joy, loved spending long days with his dad and cousin Lyla swimming and boogie boarding. Frank was happiest with Jack by his side enjoying family fun. We feel fortunate to have had this last time together.

Wherever Frank went, he made close and lasting friendships. He was kind, generous, fun loving, with a sharp wit and always up for adventure. Friends and family will greatly miss this wonderful man.

Frank is survived by his son Jack, father Frank, mother Candace, sister Julie and her fiancé Kevin, niece Lyla and extended family.

A celebration of Frank’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, N.Y., on Monday, July 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Ave., Pelham Manor, N.Y., on Tuesday, July 24, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y.
