Eoghan M. Friel of Woodlawn, New York, passed away on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.

He was 35 years old. Born in Co. Derry to Thomas and Marie Friel, Eoghan was one of six children. He was raised in Foreglen, where he attended local schools. After graduating from Dungivin Secondary School, Eoghan moved to Woodlawn to get ahead and be with his sisters. He would later return to Ireland to meet Irene and was blessed with his two children, Cillian and Niamh.

Eoghan will be remembered as the life of the party. He had a soft heart, loved to help and be around people. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Eoghan is survived by his parents, Thomas and Marie; his children, Cillian and Niamh; his siblings, Stephen, Michelle, Brenda (Sean) Heaney, Elaine and Gareth, He will be missed by his friends and everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Eoghan’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, New York, on Monday, Sept. 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eoghan’s remains will be repatriated home to Foreglen on Tuesday, Sept. 18, where a funeral Mass and burial will take place.
