Pelham Police Dept. names Sheehy its Community Problem Oriented Policing officer

Chief Pallett of the Pelham Police Department is pleased to announce that Police Officer Michael Sheehy will represent the department as the new Community Problem Oriented Policing officer (CPOP). CPOP is a combination of the core principles of community policing and the methodology of collaborative problem solving. The goal of this position is for the police to proactively engage the community to create partnerships and co-produce public safety. In the upcoming weeks Officer Sheehy will be introducing himself to local community groups to build ties and offer a personalized approach to policing.  Additionally, Officer Sheehy will conduct daily visits to schools, utilize bicycle patrol, and handle special cases that require a hands on policing approach.
