Left them I did

Left them for a better life

They were always there

Me for them, them for me

I was their glue, holding them together

Until I left

Now I walk an unknown road

The cities I have been and the cities I will go

Now I could be anyone I wanted to be

My possibilities were endless

Yet I felt lost

I walked an unknown road, without them

I blossomed like a tulip, without them

They were my light in a dark cave

They were my guide in an overgrown jungle

But now they are gone,

So I must make my own light

So I must make my own path in this overgrown jungle

Left them I did

Left them for a better life
