Pelham Art Center has released the Winter 2019 Semester of classes and workshops! Online registration opens November 28, 2019. Classes begin the week of January 15th and run for 7-9 weeks. Join us for an Open House on Saturday, January 5th from 2-4pm to meet our teaching artists and learn more about our exciting classes, workshops, and camps! Along with traditional painting, drawing and ceramic classes, the Art Center offers many STEAM courses in our newly renovated Digital Media Lab. Classes for youth, teens, and adults in the Media Lab include: Scratch Coding on Mondays with Patricia Pardini, Comic Book creation on Tuesdays with Luis Gondar, Digital Photography and Digital Photo & Re-Touch on Tuesdays with Barry Mason, Mem-able Animations on Wednesdays with the Nerdy Duo, Pixel Pals on Thursdays with Jesse Sanchez, and Stop Motion Animation and 3D Printing & Modeling on Saturdays with Frank Fanelli.

The Art Center offers classes for people of all ages! During the week kid’s classes include Clay Creations, Ceramics & Wheel Throwing, Mini Scribblers!, Sculpture & Mixed Media, and Rad Still Life Drawing – all taught by Donna Ross, and Fun! Watercolors with Jackie Meyer. Our new classes include Pop Art! with Katy Garry, Creative Mindfulness with Jo Jayson, and Art Stars with Dhanni Shenoy.

We begin the weekend with an Open Studio for painters on Friday afternoons for members who are currently enrolled in a course at the art center. On Saturdays for teens/adults, Foundations of Painting & Drawing in the morning with JC English and Intro to Ceramics in the afternoon with Keith Gordon. Saturday kid’s classes include Cultural Crafting midday with Dennis Redmoon Darkeem and DIY: Avant Garb! afternoons with Susan Saas. Due to popular demand, we are offering two Encaustic opportunities on Mondays: an Introduction to Encaustics in the evening with Katharine Dufault (open to all levels) and Open Studio in the morning. Learn this exciting technique of painting with warm, pigmented beeswax that dates to ancient times. It is a medium with so many possibilities including many painting techniques as well as photo transfer and collage. Katharine curated our fall encaustics show Waxing Poetic.

Workshops begin in February and there are a wide variety for students of all ages and skill levels. We will also be offering camps and classes during school vacations. For Winter Break, February 19-22, there will be camp for ages 3-7 and classes for ages 8+. During Spring Break, April 15-19, there will be camp for ages 3-7 and morning & afternoon classes for kids ages 8-16.

The Pelham Art Center keeps classes as affordable as possible. There are also several need based scholarships available, please ask the Art Center for an
