Michael L. Accocella of Pelham passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He was 64 years old.

Born in Mount Vernon to Michael Louis Accocella and Mary Garzi, Michael was one of three children. He attended Pelham Memorial High School before going to work in the family business in Mount Vernon, Accocella Realty of Westchester. Micheal loved wheeling and dealing and worked in the family business for over 37 years. His work was his life.

In his spare time, Michael loved to spend time in Florida, catching rays at the beach, shopping for a great deal, eating at good restaurants and talking to everyone he met. To some, he was known as the unofficial mayor of Mount Vernon, while to others he was a considered a Prima Donna.

He will be remembered as a passionate and outgoing person. He was extravagant, friendly and had a great sense of humor.

Michael is survived by his children Michelle, Melissa and his brother Joseph. He is pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Domenick.

A celebration of Michael’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, N.Y., on Sunday, July 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private. For more information or to leave a condolence, please visit www.pelhamfuneral.com.
